Hello!

I’m Sylvia.

We all need a space to recognize feelings, talk about the people or things they’re struggling with, or just set down what you're carrying for an hour.

So much can change in life from week to week, so I take a person-centered approach to therapy, meeting whatever feelings are present that day. You don't have to know how to process big feelings or stress from school, relationships, or family. I'll work with you to support where you are at this time in your life.

Together we can make sense of the major life experiences like trauma, whether it is big or small, recent or distant. Within the safe space of therapy, you or your child can learn ways to cope in their everyday life when emotions feel too big to manage.

individual therapy for kids and teens

Therapy with me might be right for your child if they’re experiencing challenges with peer and family relationships, or you think they may be struggling with anxiety or depression. You might notice your child reacting to changes in their life with overwhelming feelings that seem to have nowhere to go. Or, they may seem indifferent to a major stressors, but are having difficulty adapting in other parts of daily life. Art therapy can help if your kid or teen seems to have trouble expressing themselves through words. Through art marking, we can engage in expression that requires no words.

When working with young people, I begin by learning about your kid’s interests, activities, and the new things going on in their life, as well as ways they’ve learned to cope with life’s challenges. I find it helps to ease into the process so that your child feels safe. In our work together, your child can explore creatively and find ways to express themselves so they can begin to thrive again.

individual therapy for adults

I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed with the day-to-day, feeling significant anxiety, or want to process unresolved trauma from the past. You don’t have to have all of the answers. I can support you in finding the healthiest version of you for this season of life.

Sessions begin with learning about you, your life experiences, and what your life looks like right now. This will help us create a foundation for the therapy work so that you can build on the skills you already have to cope with your current experiences. In sessions, I will guide the art making process so that you can participate in therapy in a way that feels right for you.

Clients can begin by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation or full 50-minute intake session. I recommend weekly sessions for 4-6 weeks to establish consistency. Ready to get started? Click the button below.
