Art Therapy ASSOCIATE

Alexandria Art Therapy, LLC is not currently hiring. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis for future part-time openings for qualified candidates for Art Therapy Associates to provide art therapy and counseling virtually and in-person, as space permits.

Clinicians must have Master’s level training in art therapy. Position is open to new graduates and credentialed therapists. Supervision is provided for ATR-Ps and Virginia Residents in Counseling.

Candidates must be available to provide evening or weekend sessions.

AAT is currently seeking trauma-informed clinicians who work with adults for any of the following specializations: ADHD, Autism, LGBTQIA+ community, Eating Disorders, cPTSD, or Perinatal Mental Health.

Work hours are hybrid— including virtual sessions and in-person at the Alexandria office.

Job Duties

Associate will provide therapy services virtually with the use of a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. Population served will be based on Associate’s expertise, population preference and availability of referrals.

Part-time Associate hours for this position range from 10 hours per week up to 20 hours per week, contingent on referrals. Clinicians are hired as W2 employees. Employees are eligible for company matched 401K benefits.

The Associate is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Providing consultation to prospective clients when appropriate

  • Providing therapy services within scope of practice

  • Assessing client needs, formulating diagnosis, and completing treatment plan

  • Crisis management, when applicable

  • Coordinate care with treatment team, including other outpatient providers

  • Maintaining client file, including notes and clinical assessments

  • Submitting documentation to insurance companies when requested to justify treatment

  • Processing payments and insurance claims through the EHR system

  • Submitting client hours for payroll

  • Maintaining aesthetically pleasing, confidential virtual office space

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Associate is an individual who values collaboration, continuing education and compassionate care. Position may require work beyond traditional hours of employment, including 1-2 weeknights per week or weekends. Associate must be able to read and interpret treatment related documents, perform highly detailed work, manage concurrent tasks, and maintain healthy boundaries appropriate in an outpatient setting while working virtually.
