Hey there,

I’m Adele.

I’m here to help you discover strategies that actually work in your life. I work with individuals and couples who are tired of feeling stuck and ready to change patterns that are holding you back. 

I understand the significance of connecting in a safe, affirming therapy space. I will help you connect with your inner voice - your intuition - and lead an authentically abundant life.

I don't practice one-size-fits-all therapy. I’ll follow your lead and use the creative process as a guide in sharing your experiences. There is no “good” or “bad” in art therapy (I draw with stick figures). So, even if you’ve never picked up an art material in your life, art therapy can work for you.

I get how hard it can be to make time for yourself, which is why I offer free, 15-minute consultations.

my story

 

I always knew I would do something in the "helping world." In high school, I learned about art therapy and declared, to my friends and art teacher, that I would become an art therapist one day. After settling in to undergrad coursework, psychology alone didn't seem quite right. I knew the power of the creative process from personal experience and I revisited my declaration, trusting that a Masters degree in Art Therapy was the next step.

After having my daughter and experiencing life as a parent, I felt a familiar calling. I knew that supporting birthing and parenting people during pregnancy and early parenthood was important work. My training in neurodiverse-affirming therapy has expanded my work to include supporting Autistic adults and ADHDers in individual and couples therapy.

As a queer therapist, I understand that it can be essential to know that the therapy space is affirming. In addition to connecting with people during their perinatal experiences, I also work with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community seeking support around mental health and identity exploration.

I opened my private practice in 2015, after several years working in mental health agencies, with the intention to serve others, but I knew I could create a space to hold more types of healing and growth. It was then that my vision for a group art therapy practice was born.

I do what I do at Alexandria Art Therapy because the world doesn't talk about mental health enough in an affirming space. I’m here to support you, and other folks like you, through these (often chaotic) years - to help you realize you aren't alone, what you’re feeling is common, and wellbeing is possible.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH

Whether or not sexuality, gender identity, gender expression, or experiences in the queer community are the primary reasons for reaching out, this can be a safe space for you to show up as you.

I work with couples who desire reconnection. Whether you’re navigating a stressful life experiences, like fertility and parenthood, or simply want to reestablish a healthy foundation, couples therapy can be a space to explore your needs as an individual within the relationship.

 

Therapy begins with a free 15 minute consultation or a full 50 minute intake session. Intake sessions are an opportunity to meet, explore your experiences and discuss your needs. Together, we’ll determine the best combination of art therapy and counseling to best meet your needs.
