Week 8 marks the halfway point #the100DayProject. My morning ritual of making art is going strong and it wasn't until I displaced myself with a painting project that I realized how important having designated space. At the beginning of this series, I shifted around my living space depending on my mood or what I was doing in the moment. Now, I sit down each morning at my desk where my supplies are waiting for me. No need to gather my pens and tiles or remember where I put them last.

Set Yourself Up for Success.

Gather your art supplies and put them in one space. Find somewhere in your living space that you can keep your supplies. Can you keep them out so you simply have to pick up your supplies and create? Even better!

Make a Creative Habit

Try making art at the same time and same place each day. I wake up, grab a cup of coffee, and venture over to my desk for a few minutes each morning. Over the past few weeks, this has become a habit that I engage in each morning. Now, I notice when I skip that part of my day.

And Allow for Flexibility

Over the weekend I decided to give my office space a face lift and paint the walls. I realized how powerful my habit had become, especially when I was missing those few moments in the morning. So here's where flexibility comes in: Find out what is going to work for you.

Miss a day because it's the weekend or you're out of town or you've taken on a painting project that took a bit longer than expected? That's okay! Your creativity is alive and strong within you. Tap into it when you're ready.
